Job Description
My high-profile client are now seeking an MI specialist to lead the further enhancement of their management information capabilities, ensuring that they continue to provide high-quality, consistent information and reporting to our business.
Initially the role will focus on improving the efficiency of producing our existing reporting, which currently relies on Microsoft Excel but many of which may be better suited to a database solution. Ongoing, the successful candidate will work closely with Finance colleagues to meet our increasing client information requirements and supporting Finance systems projects, including future transformation and integration projects.
This is a new role and the successful candidate is likely to be an individual with some, limited previous experience, but ambitions to lead the development of a Management Information function. The role has strong potential for career development, with the increasing Management Information requirements and the continuing integration of our global operations.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure that the tools used to generate routine transactional inputs offer the maximum possible efficiency and accuracy, automating processes wherever possible.
Further develop the analysis by allowing new, relevant metrics to be produced by allowing access to new information through enhanced data manipulation
Ensuring that the metrics produced are communicated through the most effective channel in a manner than can be understood by colleagues across all levels and functions within the business
Drive the direction of the MI function, where appropriate building a team consisting of on-shore and off-shore presence
Key Skills
Excellent MS Excel and Excel VBA skills and high competence in database technology, particularly SQL
Excellent communication skills, with an ability to understand and interpret the requirements of Finance and operational colleagues and delivery solutions to meet those needs
Strong problem analysis and investigation skills and an ability to find innovation solutions to challenges
Previous Experience
Previous experience of developing tools to support and improve MI reporting and efficiencies
Practical application of database technologies and advanced level Excel VBA
Previous experience of working within the Finance domain is desirable
